It’s okay to lean on your children when you are weak. I think they’re stronger and more resilient than we give them credit for. I include them in most decisions. It makes them feel in control and an important part of the family.

With my 5th child I hid my pregnancy from everyone with very few exceptions. Most of our friends and extended family found out on the day I gave birth. The anxiety over what other people would think or say was consuming to say the least. 

Resolutions to Results

Resolutions are mostly like wishes written on hot air balloons and released into the sky, with the hope that results will be sprinkled down upon us at some point before the year ends. This year let's make them different!

As I resolve to take better care of myself physically and emotionally in 2017, I’m taking ispeakmom.com along for the ride. I hope that my #missionmommywellness will inspire other moms to take some time back for themselves too.

Toss the Sugar Out with 2016

Especially during the holidays, it’s so hard to put that cookie down…. or that piece of cake… or chocolate. No matter where I went, the choices seemed to be sugary or more sugary and fattening or more fattening. Sometimes the temptation was just too much to resist.
